Product Information

Enjoy clear vision and consistent comfort with O2 Optix (6 pack) from Alcon. A highly breathable lens, O2 Optix allows up to five times more oxygen to reach your eyes compared to other popular contact lens brands. For white, healthy-looking eyes, choose O2 Optix.

Features & Benefits

O2 Optix contacts are 1-2 week lenses, meaning they be worn daily for up to 14 days. O2 Optix contacts are also FDA-approved for up to seven days of continuous wear. But if your eye care professional (ECP) recommends a different wearing schedule, it's best to follow their guidance.

O2 Optix contacts are made breathable and comfortable by lotrafilcon B. This silicone hydrogel material allows nourishing oxygen to flow through the lens for white, healthy-looking eyes. O2 Optix contacts also feature an ultra-smooth surface designed to resist irritating deposit buildup.

Additionally, O2 Optix contacts have 33% water content, which is considered good for dry eyes. This is because contacts with a low water content (less than 50%) dry less on the eye than contacts with a high water content (more than 50%).

O2 Optix contacts are available with correction for near- and farsighted prescriptions.

Who They’re For

O2 Optix contacts are a great choice for people who want the convenience of a 1-2 week lens with a focus on comfort. These highly breathable contacts are also suitable for people with dry or sensitive eyes, as well as those who experience irritation due to lens dryness.

Additionally, extended wear lenses like O2 Optix contacts are ideal for people with unpredictable schedules or highly active lifestyles who aren’t always able to properly care for their lenses, such as outdoor enthusiasts, healthcare professionals, and shift workers.

When you’re ready to try O2 Optix contacts for yourself, order yours from Lens.com today and take advantage of our discount prices!

How to Put In O2 Optix

O2 Optix contacts are soft lenses and as such, you should follow the standard procedure for this type of lens. Wash and dry your hands before touching the contacts or your eyes. Scoop your first lens out of the case with the index finger of your dominant hand and rinse it with a multipurpose cleaning solution recommended by your ECP. Inspect the lens for any tears or debris. Hold your eyelid open, stare straight ahead, and gently place the lens on your eye. Blink a few times to center the lens. Repeat for the other lens.

O2 Optix FAQs

Can you take a nap in O2 Optix contacts?

No, you cannot nap in O2 Optix lenses. As O2 Optix are not approved for overnight wear (a full night's sleep), napping in them for a short period of time is not advisable either, and it can lead to eye-health complications. Napping for any length of time with contacts not designed for such an environment is risky. Choose a lens that is approved for overnight wear and seek guidance from your ECP if this is a requirement for you.

How many boxes of O2 Optix do I need to buy to last 12 months?

You need 4 box(es) of O2 Optix contacts to last you for 12 months. These amounts pertain to a single eye, so to cover both eyes, double these amounts.

Is ordering O2 Optix contact lenses online safe?

Yes, all contact lenses, including O2 Optix ordered from Lens.com are FDA-approved, genuine lenses manufactured by top contact lens brands such as Bausch + Lomb and Alcon, and backed by a money-back guarantee. Order and fulfillment processes adhere to mandates set by US federal law, including the requirement to verify valid prescriptions, without exception. We go above and beyond, by making the experience efficient, easy, and pleasant with 24/7/365 customer service and a money-back guarantee.

How long does it take to adjust to wearing O2 Optix contacts?

If you're wearing O2 Optix for the first time, it can take several days to a couple of weeks for you to adjust to wearing them on a daily basis. Contacts vary from brand to brand in terms of their shape, material, breathability, wetting agents used, and other factors, thus requiring an adjustment period. Rigid/hard lenses can sometimes take longer to adjust to, whereas most contacts in use today employ a soft form of silicone that is typically easy to adjust to.

Can I use my eyeglass prescription for O2 Optix contact lenses?

Unfortunately no, you can't use your eyeglass prescription for O2 Optix lenses. Your eyeglass prescription only has the power part of the contact lens prescription. In addition to the power, the proper base curve (BC) and diameter (DIA) are needed to order contact lenses. Contact lenses come in different sizes and must be fit to your eye by an Optometrist or Ophthalmologist. As a replacement center, we can only sell you contact lenses that you are already wearing successfully. So ultimately eyeglass prescriptions are not the same as a prescription for O2 Optix contacts. See an ECP/optometrist if you're looking for a contact lens prescription and fitting as a first-time-wearer.

Is O2 Optix contact lens FDA-approved?

Yes, O2 Optix is FDA-approved. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulates all contact lenses as prescription medical devices and thus must go through an approval process, after which they can be legally sold in the US (if approved). Lens.com sells only FDA-approved contact lenses. From lenses to address near, farsightedness, astigmatism, and even cosmetic lenses, our inventory consists only of FDA-approved contacts.

Are O2 Optix sold on Lens.com authentic? Why is it cheaper than other vendors?

Yes, all contacts sold on Lens.com are 100% authentic, including O2 Optix and come with a money-back guarantee. Lens.com is able to sell contacts extremely competitively by buying and selling in volume, by smartly managing costs and overhead, and by accepting smaller but fairer profit margins versus other e-tailers and ECPs in exchange for building a satisfied customer base. We stand by our product and offer 24/7 live-customer support.

How old do you have to be to wear O2 Optix contact lenses?

Like most contacts, including O2 Optix, they can be worn by teens and potentially pre-teens as well, per the direction of an ECP. In general, there is no fixed minimum age for wearing contacts, as it's a judgment call based on lifestyle habits, budget, and of course your ECP's guidance. Contacts do require care and consistency in usage and maintenance/cleaning and these are the lifestyle factors you should consider when thinking about contacts for a child.

To buy O2 Optix contacts online, you'll need a credit card, the quantity you want to order, and the name of your eye doctor. That's the bare bones. We can contact your eye doctor to confirm your prescription on your behalf. Are online O2 Optix contact lenses the same as from your eye doctor?

Yes, generally, O2 Optix contacts purchased online are the exact same lenses you purchase in a store or a doctor's office. Do I need an rx/prescription to buy O2 Optix contacts online?

Yes, you do need a valid prescription to buy O2 Optix contacts online. A prescription is required to buy any type or brand of contact lens, either online or in a store, without exception. How do I read my O2 Optix prescription?

Contact lens prescriptions, including for O2 Optix contacts, follow a standardized format and use abbreviated terms. There are values for power, base curve, diameter, and other parameters, some of which you'll need to specify when ordering contacts. Click here, to see further info on how to read your O2 Optix contact lens prescription.

How to tell if my O2 Optix contacts are inside out?

You will know O2 Optix contacts are inside-out if they feel uncomfortable in your eye. An inside-out contact lens will also move too much when you blink, and they may even pop out. Some contacts feature an inside-out mark that can be checked once removed, but this is not the case with all lenses.

Can I be allergic to O2 Optix contacts?

Contacts, like O2 Optix are made of hypoallergenic materials, meaning the contacts themselves don't usually cause an allergic reaction. In most cases, what causes an allergic reaction is a buildup of contaminants on the contacts. If you experience redness, watering, and other symptoms of a possible allergic reaction, remove your contacts immediately and consult your ECP.

Where can I buy O2 Optix contacts near me?

O2 Optix contacts are typically available to purchase at your nearest brick-and-mortar eyewear store or ECP's office. However, the lowest prices and largest inventory of these lenses can be found online, such as at Lens.com, where greater volumes and lower overhead can translate into significant savings over store-bought contacts.

Can O2 Optix contacts expire?

Like all contact lenses, O2 Optix lenses do expire. The expiration date will be stamped on the box itself or on the aluminum fold of the blister pack in either a YYYY-MM or YYYY-MM-DD format. Typically, the expiration date for contacts is several years after the date of packaging.

What is the water content of O2 Optix?

O2 Optix contacts have a water content of 33%. The higher the water content in a contact lens, the more oxygen reaches the cornea during lens wear. There are other factors at play however so water content alone isn't enough of a factor to judge a lens' performance for a given person. High water content lenses can feel comfortable initially but may dry out over time, but this is not always the case. So it's good to know about the water content of a lens, but it's not everything. Consult your ECP to find out the best options for you.

How should I store my O2 Optix contact lenses?

Daily disposable contacts cannot be stored and must be discarded at the end of each day. Even if you wear them for only a few hours one day, you still need to discard them after that use and wear a fresh pair of contacts the next day.

You may keep weekly contacts in multi-purpose contact solution in a tightly closed contact lens case for up to 2 weeks.

For monthly replacement lenses you may store them in contact solution in a tightly closed contact lens case for up to 30 days.

Is O2 Optix discontinued?

No, O2 Optix contacts have not been discontinued by Alcon. They continue to be produced, marketed, and sold on Lens.com. Typically, if a contact lens ceases to be produced by the manufacturer, we will indicate it clearly on our product page as being a discontinued lens and it won't be an option to purchase them.

Do I need a prescription, or a copy of my prescription in order to buy O2 Optix?

Yes, you do require a valid prescription in order to buy O2 Optix or any contacts in the United States, per Federal Law. However, at Lens.com having a copy of your prescription in your possession is not required to place an order (though be aware it's something that is owed to you by your ECP once you complete an eye examination so that you can choose where to purchase your contacts). If you don't have a copy in your possession, Lens.com representatives will help verifying your prescription by calling your ECP for you. Provide us with the basic information, sit back, and relax.

Who makes O2 Optix contacts?

O2 Optix contacts are made by Alcon, and sold on Lens.com.

How many boxes of O2 Optix do I need to buy to last 6 months, or 12 months?

You need 2 box(es) of O2 Optix contacts to last you for 6 months. In order to last you for 12 months, you'll need 4 box(es). These amounts pertain to a single eye, so to cover both eyes, double these amounts.
